The Smugglers is a small pub located on the Beach front at Roker. During the summer it is in the perfect location for a nice pint at the beach, with tabled and chairs provided onto the promenade.
They usually have music bands on at weekends (fridays i think) and it can be very busy when there is a band on, so much so that people are getting drinks and then going outside to watch through the windows!
The food withini the pub is very limited though, with sandwiches the main criteria. -

This is a good traditional pub on the sea front at Sunderland. It is actually right next to the beach and the bottom entrance to Roker Park. You can enjoy a pint out the front in the summer and enjoy the view. It is quite a small pub, but is family friendly. We used to go when I was younger with y parents. It can get quite busy as they do have some bands on. The beach is great for the kids if you want some peace and quiet for a bit. There isn't much selection of food available. Nice place if you're heading to the beach.
